With FCP Studio 2/FCP 7+ I do not get the egg shaped handles for easy manipulation in my viewer or canvas. Is this normal? I have to manipulate the sliders and use the 2 points. It's much more laborious.
Is there a way to get this?
Thanks.
Unfortunately the on-screen controls are unavailable in Final Cut due to a limitation in the Apple FCP software developer kit and I agree with you in that the lack of on-screen controls makes working with the filter within this host more difficult. And there is nothing that we can do to get around this limitation - only Apple can change this.
You can hold down the Option modifier which updates the redraw while you drag points in the Canvas window so that you can see the mask as it is being generated, which helps with setting the mask position but the other controls, such as the feathering, can only be modified via the parameters in the effects control window.
Cheers,
Peter.
